Bruce Local Holds Delegates Council Work Session

On June 22, the Society’s Bruce Local held a Delegates Council work session to help prepare the local for bargaining. Delegates were split into workgroups to focus on reviewing important issues raised by the members in the bargaining survey and to propose new collective agreement language to address member concerns.

The Local was joined by Society President Rebecca Caron, Secretary-Treasurer Mike Borrelli, and EVP Ralph Chatoor. President Caron praised Delegates for their work on behalf of the membership and celebrated the completion of MCR Unit 3 reminding delegates that the company is doing very well as a result of Society Members’ hard work and that the company can afford to treat Society members with the respect that they deserve.

Society Bruce Local Vice-President Dave Ceksters provided an update on the state of the relationship with the employer and where preparations currently stand in the context of the last two rounds of bargaining. The LVP underscored that, while matters with the company are currently positive, it is of the utmost importance that the Local be well prepared and that the membership remain engaged with the bargaining team.
